Sports Fitness Section
Culcheth Sports Club are committed to investing in improving the facilities of the club, recently in the form of the proposed 4G pitch and the new sports bar. In addition to these, I am delighted to say that we have agreed a new sports fitness section replacing outgoing existing sections. This space will be transformed into a health & fitness facility primarily for the Culcheth, Croft and Glazebury community. Culcheth Sports Club members will have priority access to join the facility when memberships are announced and then the wider community will be offered memberships soon after. The refurbishment will commence in March and whilst not confirmed it is expected that the Health & Fitness section will have a Group Cycle Studio, a Combat studio, a HIIT Circuit Training Studio and a Wellbeing studio, alongside a series of outdoor fitness and wellbeing events. We thank you for your patience in advance for any disruption this may cause and it will be kept to a minimum during the renovations.
It is expected that, assuming government restrictions are removed as planned, the Health & Fitness section will be fully open from Monday 17th May. However, as government guidance will allow outdoor exercise in groups of 6 we will be looking to begin with some small outdoor group exercise classes from 29th March onwards (tbc).
This is particularly good news for the Club and the local community as we are all aware of the temporary closure of the Livewire facility at Culcheth High School, which is under consultation to be a permanent closure. We are delighted to be able to ensure that the health, fitness and wellbeing of the local community will continue to have a home within the village.
As many of you are aware the bowling green is not fit for purpose anymore due the bowling section not being able to meet their obligations regarding their fee.
The Committee have been trying different ways to generate revenue. They offered the green to the Croquet and Tennis sections but unfortunately they were unable to meet the required obligations.
The club has now applied for planning permission for a 4G facility. After exhausting all grants and loan options to raise £120,000 for the pitch, the club has had a finance offer for the whole amount from a company which speacialises in crowd funding for clubs like ourselves.
Although the finance company already has a full investor interest for the required amount, the Committee has insisted that members be given first opportunity.
If any members wishes to invest in the crowd funding then at this stage all you need do is register your interest with the Sports Club via the office or email on email@example.com and the company will contact you in due course with further information.
Please note, there is a limited period of 3 weeks for members to register any interest.
Once again it’s with great regret that we have to close our doors and facilities for the lockdown period
Should you need to contact us during this time you can:
Both will be monitored and we will get back to you as soon as possible
Than you to all our members and guests for your continued support of the club.
We look forward to welcoming you all back soon.
From all at Culcheth Sports Club
