Culcheth Sports Club are committed to investing in improving the facilities of the club, recently in the form of the proposed 4G pitch and the new sports bar. In addition to these, I am delighted to say that we have agreed a new sports fitness section replacing outgoing existing sections. This space will be transformed into a health & fitness facility primarily for the Culcheth, Croft and Glazebury community. Culcheth Sports Club members will have priority access to join the facility when memberships are announced and then the wider community will be offered memberships soon after. The refurbishment will commence in March and whilst not confirmed it is expected that the Health & Fitness section will have a Group Cycle Studio, a Combat studio, a HIIT Circuit Training Studio and a Wellbeing studio, alongside a series of outdoor fitness and wellbeing events. We thank you for your patience in advance for any disruption this may cause and it will be kept to a minimum during the renovations.
It is expected that, assuming government restrictions are removed as planned, the Health & Fitness section will be fully open from Monday 17th May. However, as government guidance will allow outdoor exercise in groups of 6 we will be looking to begin with some small outdoor group exercise classes from 29th March onwards (tbc).
This is particularly good news for the Club and the local community as we are all aware of the temporary closure of the Livewire facility at Culcheth High School, which is under consultation to be a permanent closure. We are delighted to be able to ensure that the health, fitness and wellbeing of the local community will continue to have a home within the village.
